As part of that team, the Junior Account Planner plays an active role and contributes to a broad cross-section of the agency’s strategic projects. You’ll report to the Chief Strategy Officer and support a variety of Clients across a range of categories and budget levels. This is a Client-facing role and you will be regularly presenting to and communicating with Clients.  You would also work closely with the CEO on the new business front. In addition, this position would occasionally manage third-party research vendors and lead the charge for researching insights and opportunities for Client challenges.

The right candidate will be insatiably curious and passionate about discovering what makes consumers tick.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a deep and comprehensive understanding of Clients’ businesses
  • Uncovers actionable insights and clearly communicates with Client and Agency team
  • Supports strategic, research and consumer insight projects for agency Clients
  • Authors, with supervision, creative briefs and brand positioning documents
  • Supports the design, execution, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative research
  • Monitors status of strategic projects – tracks timelines and coordinates resources
  • Supports new business team by executing background research and assisting in development of RFP responses and case studies
  • Becomes an expert in utilizing and analyzing Agency research resources/tools and business-related data provided by Client
  • Monitors social, cultural and industry trends and their impact on the industry and consumer behavior
  • Proactively self-educates regarding the marketing discipline and Clients’ business
  • Ensures perfection in work that leaves the agency

Physical Demands

  • Subject to normal inside office conditions
  • Required to travel to Client locations and on other production related business
  • Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal and/or visual inspection and evaluation of creative product.
  • Regularly required to talk and hear in communications with coworkers and Clients
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit and use hands
  • Significant amount of work on computer requires ability to use keyboard
  • Occasionally required to reach with arms, carry/lift up to 20 pounds, stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree, preferably in a communications-related discipline (marketing, advertising, public relations, journalism)
  • Alternatively, four-year college degree in unrelated discipline with 1-2 years of applicable experience in an advertising agency
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
