Case study

Lumos

Challenge

Built for Speed

Over a 4-year journey, North State Communications, now rebranded as Lumos, evolved from a local provider to a regional enterprise marketing a superior fiber internet product. During this entire time frame Wildfire was retained as their interactive and strategic partner rebuilding and evolving 2 websites (due to merger & acquisition).

NorthState’s website was built on an outdated platform with limited CMS functionality, making it difficult to promote products and services efficiently. It also lacked robust features for processing online orders and service changes. A key factor in the merger/acquisition was NorthState’s need for a fully capable eCommerce platform to gain a competitive edge over other regional providers. As part of the brand consolidation, an enterprise-level website was essential to support sophisticated back-end systems, accommodate new customers across diverse markets, and ensure a smooth transition for legacy users.

Strategy

Modernizing a Large Tech Company

As part of the Lumos rebranding, a fully integrated consumer website was launched, connecting seamlessly with multiple OSS and BSS platforms to enable end-to-end eCommerce transactions across multiple markets. These advanced capabilities—typically found only in large-scale ISPs—positioned Lumos ahead of regional competitors. The new website also serves as a strategic foundation for continued expansion into new markets.
