Case study

Charleys

Challenge

Feeding Your Cravings, Faster

With over 600 locations in 46 U.S. states and in 17 countries, Charleys can be found in retail shopping centers, airports, strip centers, and Army & Air Force bases worldwide.

Charleys recently underwent a brand refresh to focus on the craveability of their food. Their website was lagging in communicating that message to customers. Wildfire was tasked with completely redesigning the website and user experience to better align with the brand refresh, adding deep hooks to their online ordering platform, and creating a location-aware experience that made finding and ordering from the nearest Charleys location simple and intuitive.

Strategy

Approaching the Problem From Multiple Angles

We knew that building a new site alone would not fully address the problem, we also had to focus on organic acquisition.

  • Completed a full site UI/UX overhaul
  • Built a custom API-driven online ordering front-end
  • Conducted full site audits, repairing any technical SEO issues
  • Utilized SearchIQ to determine and address major ranking factor issues, such as page speed and schema
  • Generated and implemented SEO recommendations for onsite SEO
  • Optimized Google Business Profiles with a focus on Local SEO efforts and proper link implementation
Wildfire increased the total number of keywords ranked on page 1 from 24 in Oct, ‘21 to 609 in Oct, ‘23.

Solution

Crave. Click. Enjoy. Repeat.

The new site automatically detects the user’s location and sets their store to the nearest Charleys. Users can navigate around the map to explore other nearby locations. The site displays menu options and promotions specific to the user’s location. The site automatically updates menu items, store location data, and store hours from the online ordering system. We optimized UX to maximize online orders.
