Challenge

Unifying a complex digital ecosystem 

True Botanicals is a leader in clean, luxury skincare, but their digital infrastructure was not scaling with the business. The ecommerce experience was split between Shopify and Prismic, creating a complex backend that made managing content, pricing, and promotions an inefficient manual process.

Outdated templates and inconsistent styling hindered the site’s ability to reflect the brand’s premium evolution. Heavy reliance on custom code also meant the internal team could not perform routine updates without developer support. With upcoming growth initiatives like the Jessica Chastain partnership, True Botanicals required a unified and scalable platform to support detailed product storytelling and high-volume traffic.

Solution

A centralized, scalable, and story-driven Shopify transformation

We executed a migration and redesign to move True Botanicals into a centralized Shopify environment. By removing the dependency on Prismic and streamlining custom code, we provided the True Botanicals team with more control. This allowed them to manage the storefront through a modular and user-friendly system.

Key Technical & UX Pillars:

  • Operational Centralization: We consolidated content and ecommerce logic into Shopify. This single-platform approach improved data management and streamlined pricing, inventory, and promotional workflows.
  • Component-Based Design System: We rebuilt every page using a consistent UI. This ensures brand alignment across the site and allows the team to assemble new pages efficiently.
  • High-Conversion PDPs: We enhanced the Product Detail Pages (PDPs) to better communicate value. This included specialized layouts for product sets that showcase clinical results and allow for both bundled and individual purchasing, driving higher Average Order Value (AOV).
  • Campaign-Ready Architecture: For the Jessica Chastain partnership, we developed a bespoke landing page featuring skincare routines and detailed storytelling. This demonstrated the platform’s ability to support high-profile marketing assets while maintaining performance.
  • Functional Inclusivity: We integrated WCAG-compliant accessibility improvements and enhanced the loyalty and rewards functionality. This ensures the brand experience is inclusive and functional for every customer.
