The Media Director at Wildfire serves as the strategic and operational lead for all paid and organic media initiatives. This role oversees media strategy, cross-channel planning, performance oversight, measurement frameworks, organic social and team development across a range of clients and industries.

This position requires an innovative, analytical, collaborative leader with deep experience across media channels and a proven ability to build and scale high-performing media teams. The Media Director partners closely with Strategy, Account, Creative and Digital teams to deliver measurable results and best-in-class outcomes.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the development of integrated media strategies that align with client goals, audience insights, and broader communications plans.
  • Translate client business objectives into clear media KPIs, testing strategies, measurement approaches, and optimization frameworks.
  • Serve as the senior media advisor for internal teams, clients, and new business opportunities.
  • Partner with Account, Strategy, Digital, and Creative teams to ensure media best practices inform creative development and platform-specific execution.

Cross-Channel Media Oversight

  • Oversee planning, execution, and performance across all media channels
  • Ensure that plan recommendations reflect the entire ecosystem of touchpoints (paid, earned, owned, shared), encompassing all consumer interactions.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of platform capabilities, auction dynamics, measurement tools, and emerging opportunities.
  • Guide channel specialists and buyers in building efficient campaigns, optimizing budgets, and implementing best practices.
  • Ensure campaigns follow proper trafficking, QA, and tracking protocols (CAPIs, GA4, UTMs, pixels, etc.) via support from specialists or Digital Team.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Establish media performance reporting frameworks, insights cadences, and optimization processes to drive consistent performance across campaigns.
  • Review campaign data regularly, identifying performance trends and opportunities for improvements.
  • Present results, insights, and strategic recommendations to clients in a clear and digestible manner.
  • Partner with the Digital Team on analytics, conversion tracking, and attribution requirements.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Manage and mentor specialists across paid media and organic social.
  • Build and evolve processes, best practices, templates, and QA standards to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Oversee operational structure for the media function, including workflow optimization and resource planning.
  • Lead agency-level education on media trends, platform changes, measurement shifts, and performance insights.

Client & Internal Partnership

  • Build strong working relationships and collaborate closely with Account teams to manage timelines, campaign deliverables, and milestone planning, and ensure assets meet media requirements and reflect platform best practices.
  • Closely collaborate with strategy team to craft broader communications planning deliverables
  • Participate in new business pitches by developing strategic media plans, performance projections, and case studies.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in paid media strategy, planning, and performance management across multiple channels.
  • Deep knowledge of digital platforms (Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, programmatic DSPs priority – others a plus) and experience with traditional media.
  • Strong experience overseeing multi-channel budgets, forecasting, pacing, and performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to lead media strategy, present to clients confidently, and translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated mentorship and leadership capabilities; experience managing teams or freelancers strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in attribution concepts, audience planning, and best-practice tracking implementation.
  • Familiarity with organic social strategy and publishing workflows.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite; comfort with analytics dashboards, project management tools, and reporting platforms.
