The Challenge

While men’s basketball has a long tradition of excellence, the team was in a rough spot and had not been drawing the usual crowds to games. They needed to up attendance and get disenchanted fans excited about Wake Forest Basketball again.

Each year, the Wake Forest sales team sends out a season ticket renewal direct mail. Wildfire wanted to create a direct mail design that would inform and inspire fans, while staying out of the trash.

The Solution

We designed a booklet that contained all relevant season information, plus a build-it-yourself basketball hoop and ball dieline that encouraged recipients to put themselves in the game.

Wake Forest Athletics exceeded their goal of season ticket renewals for the basketball season and the mailer received the Bronze Clio Award in the “Print/Mail” category and the PICA award for Best of Category—Miscellaneous, Specialty or Novelty.
